Air Quality

An aerosol is a set of solid, liquid or two-phase particles suspended in a gaseous medium. A particular feature of aerosols is the great variability in particle sizes, which can spread over several orders of magnitude (their dimensions vary between a few dozen micrometers and a few nanometers).

The physical phenomena that govern the movement of particles then depend on their size: for example, the effect of gravity on the smallest particles becomes negligible compared to air movements!
